Australia & South Pacific Journeys with

Calidex divers will embark on a stunning journey to the jewel-like Raja Ampat Archipelago in Papua, Indonesia’s western half of the island of New Guinea. Surrounding the tip of the Bird’s Head Peninsula that shapes the northwest reaches of New Guinea, Raja Ampat is a cluster of four main islands and hundreds of islets in the CeramSea. Recent ocean surveys indicate the Archipelago may be the richest and most biodiverse marine region on the planet. Sorong is the gateway town to the Bird’s Head Peninsula and our staging point for a boat trip deep into the exotic heart of Raja Ampat to "Misool Eco Resort". Located on the small private island of Batbitim just off Batanme (Misool) Island, the Resort is an idyllic complex of beach villas and over-the-water cottages that blend beautifully into the extraordinary aquatic environment. We base here for seven days of incomparable shore-based diving, supported by a local dive leader dedicated to our group for the duration of the trip.
